Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior BI Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, business acumen, and technical skillset to transform complex requirements into actionable insights through data discovery, transformation, analysis and dashboard development. A self-starter mindset, and excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, as this role bridges the gap between various stakeholders from business experts to technical teams.

This role encompasses also data integration and management in our AWS services, delivering comprehensive training and end-user support on our data solutions, while driving continuous process improvements and maintaining expertise in the latest BI tools, data analytics methodologies, and cloud service innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and QuickSight Dashboard Development:

  • Partner with business stakeholders, system owners, data analysts, and engineers to understand business requirements and data needs. Discover and transform raw data into meaningful visualizations and insights that align with business objectives.
  • Use QuickSight to analyze large datasets and design an develop interactive visualizations. Deliver comprehensive dashboards that provide valuable business insights and facilitate effective data exploration. Create customized solutions with advanced features and functionality to address specific user needs.
  • Build user-friendly datasets and dashboards by adhering to consistent visualization and data standards for intuitive usage and navigation. Maintain thorough version control and documentation.
  • Configure and maintain advanced access controls, including role-based permissions, data-level security, and privacy compliance. Verify that all security measures align with use cases and policy requirements.
  • Leverage advanced AI capabilities to enhance user experience and deliver additional value through our analytics solutions.
  • Update data pipelines, analytical models, and dashboards to adapt to evolving business needs. Ensure data accuracy, relevance, and optimal pipeline performance.

Data Integration and Management:

  • Utilize AWS services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, and Amazon Redshift to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources. Design and implement robust data transformation pipelines, enabling reliable insights for our business partners.
  • Work closely with data engineers and cloud architects to ensure seamless integration of data from various source systems into S3 and Redshift.
  • Optimize and management queries for performance and scalability. Identify and address performance bottlenecks to ensure quick processing for up-to-date dashboards.
  • Ensure compliance with data security policies and governance guidelines when handling sensitive data within our cloud infrastructure.

Training and Support:

  • Become the trusted analytics partner of our business stakeholders. Guide stakeholders through analytical considerations and KPI design principles. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Create comprehensive documentation and training materials to facilitate knowledge transfer, promote best practices, and enhance data discoverability.
  • Deliver training and support to help end-users and stakeholders effectively interact with and interpret visualizations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Offer technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in BI, data analytics, and cloud services.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest data visualization trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance the quality and impact of visualizations.

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying, data transformation and manipulation, and Python
  • Experience working with data visualization tools, specifically Amazon QuickSight.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills and ability to work independently without the need for directions.
  • Proven in-depth experience working with various data sources, databases and data integration, with large datasets and design efficient data models for data visualization tools, specifically Amazon QuickSight.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience with statictical/machine learning techniques is a strong plus.
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for design and aesthetics. Knowledge of data visualization best practices and principles.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and best practices
  • Experience with cloud-based software development tools and methodologies (Git, CI/CD, Code Deploy, Code Pipeline, etc.) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of AWS command-line interface (CLI) or SDKs for programmatic access.
  • AWS Lambda / Server-less computing
