Role Overview

• We're seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Cloud Engineer with a deep specialization in DevOps to be a cornerstone of our cloud infrastructure practice. In this role, you will be pivotal in designing, building, and maintaining highly scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. You will champion automation, implement robust CI/CD pipelines, and instill a culture of reliability and operational excellence across engineering teams.

As a Senior Cloud Engineer at Beyond, you’ll:

• Architect and implement sophisticated, automated CI/CD pipelines for a variety of application workloads, enabling rapid and reliable software delivery.
• Design, build, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, primarily with Terraform.
• Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Docker, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Develop and implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies using tools like Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, and Grafana to ensure system health and proactive issue resolution.
• Champion and integrate security best practices (DevSecOps) into the SDLC, including vulnerability scanning, identity and access management (IAM), and network security configurations.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to optimize application deployment strategies, improve system reliability, and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
• Promote DevOps best practices and mentor other engineers, driving a culture of automation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Things that will make you stand out:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or DevOps role.
• Deep expertise in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, including GKE, Cloud Build, Cloud Run, IAM, and VPC networking.
• Mastery of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with a strong command of Terraform.
• Proven experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Demonstrable experience building and operating robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like Cloud Build, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Bash for automation tasks.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking principles, including firewalls, load balancing, and DNS.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

• Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification.
• Experience with multi-cloud environments, particularly AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with service mesh technologies like Istio or Anthos.
• Experience with cost management and optimization practices in the cloud (FinOps).
• Knowledge of chaos engineering principles and practices.
