Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and draft technical advice, delegating simpler issues to junior colleagues in the team, according to their level of experience.
- Review the work of junior colleagues to ensure that it is technically correct and that it meets Ryan’s standards in terms of language and format.
- Organise workloads and prioritise issues with junior colleagues to ensure that advice is provided on a timely basis and in line with clients’ expectations.
- Provide regular feedback to junior colleagues in the team in order to assist their development.
- Participate in calls and meetings with both prospective and existing clients.
- Maintain close relationships with existing clients in order to gain more work.
- Liaise with third parties, including tax authorities and suppliers (local partners).
- Review news articles prepared by junior colleagues to ensure that they are factually correct.
- Write articles to be published on the company’s website or in external journals etc.
- Participate in the preparation of marketing initiatives such as webinars.
- Research changes to legislation and administrative practice.
- Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times, including by junior members of the team.
- Assist in the preparation of client fee quotes, and request fee quotes from local partners.
- Prepare client invoices for review by senior colleagues.
- Prepare responses to billing queries from clients.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree / Master’s degree in Law, Tax, Management or Economics.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written). Other languages will also be valued.
- Professional experience of at least 3 years in a VAT advisory role, preferably with an international/cross-border focus.
Computer Skills:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
