About the role
As a Senior Cyber Security Advisor, you will play a key role in strengthening AGL’s resilience against an evolving cyber threat landscape across both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments. Acting as a trusted partner to business and technology stakeholders, you will provide expert guidance on cyber security and technology risk, helping to safeguard our critical infrastructure, systems and data.
A core focus of this role is the assessment and endorsement of secure solution designs for business and technology initiatives, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure hosted solutions. You will work closely with delivery teams and senior leaders to ensure security risks are identified early, appropriate controls are built in by design, and solutions align with AGL’s cyber security standards, policies and risk appetite.
This role combines strategic advisory responsibilities with hands‑on engagement across IT and OT initiatives, supporting secure transformation and continuous improvement of AGL’s overall security posture.
What You’ll Be Doing
Act as a trusted cyber security advisor to business and technology stakeholders across IT and OT environments
Assess, review and formally endorse solution designs, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure–hosted solutions
Provide security guidance to delivery teams, ensuring risks are identified early and controls are built in by design
Lead cyber security risk identification, assessment and mitigation in line with AGL’s risk appetite
Develop, maintain and enforce cyber security policies, standards and guidelines
Communicate cyber security risks, strategy and posture effectively to senior leaders and executives
Educate technical and non‑technical stakeholders through workshops, training and awareness initiatives
What You’ll Bring
Experience across cyber security, IT/OT security and ICT policy within complex environments
Strong expertise in cloud security, particularly Microsoft Azure, including architecture, IAM, network and data security
Proven experience assessing and approving secure solution designs for enterprise platforms and cloud‑hosted solutions
Working knowledge of cyber security frameworks and standards such as AESCSF and NIST
Strong risk management capability, including experience with cyber security legislation and regulatory obligations
