Senior Process Manager (Senior Data Analyst I)
About the Team:
The recently formed Collections & Policies Team in Data Operations is hiring a Senior Process Manager (Senior Data Analyst I). The Collections & Policies team is responsible for the operationalisation of the policies around content and collection management, as defined by customer facing Products like Scopus. The team also ensures that processes around policies and collection management are continuously reviewed and improved. The team is new, requiring the Senior Process Manager to be flexible and eager to help shape the future of the team. The team works closely with the Content and Policy team in Research Data Platform (RDP), the Scopus Content Selection and Advisory Board, and various teams in Data Operations.
About the Role:
As a Senior Process Manager (Senior Data Analyst I), you will have a solid understanding of best practices and execute projects and initiatives independently. You will create advanced-level insights and recommendations in your area of expertise, serving as a subject matter expert. You will lead analytics efforts, often independently, on complex projects. In addition, you will identify data driven improvement opportunities in processes and redesign such processes to improve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Process Management
· Manage procedures and communication for titles from submission to final decision on Scopus Title Evaluation System (STEP).
· Proactively work with publishers/journal editorial offices or enriching data independently.
· Manage journal re-evaluation processes, investigating journals with publication concerns or performance issues.
· Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
Stakeholder Management and Communication
· Coordinate with CSAB members, the Product team, internal stakeholders, ( and publishers).
· Communicate professionally and promptly with publishers, editorial offices, or editors regarding content selection, re-evaluation, or policy issues.
· Handle queries and questions from internal and external contacts.
· Develop and provide status updates, both verbal and written to stakeholders.
Workflow Design, Implementation, and Improvement
· Design sustainable workflows related to Product policies and collections, including workflow charts and procedural documentation.
· Proactively seek opportunities to improve existing processes and ways of working to meet customer needs.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to embed new and improved workflows into daily operations, ensuring tracking and reporting capabilities are in place, and governance processes are established.
Data Analytics
· Identify how data and insights can improve policy execution related to content and collections.
· Perform data analysis activities in Excel and DataBricks.
· Translate business and operational requirements into data analytics requirements for Data Engineers and Data Scientists for more complex data analysis activities.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel).
· Familiarity with Elsevier production and product databases, Scopus is a plus.
· Experience in data analysis and process improvement projects.
· Project management experience.
· Knowledge of publishing standards and content formats.

· Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
