Radiance Technologies is an employee-owned company with benefits that are unmatched by most companies in the Huntsville, AL or Dayton, OH areas. Employee ownership, generous 401K, full health/dental/life/vision insurance benefits, flexible work schedules, stimulating assignments, educational reimbursement, competitive salaries, and a pleasant work environment combine to make Radiance Technologies a great place to work and succeed.

We are searching for a talented Senior Database Administrator to join our Modeling and Simulation (M&S) development team. We are looking for an experienced database administrator to work with a diverse team of software engineers, data scientists, and analysts to explore and develop solutions on a large, complex development project. The candidate will be expected to integrate into the existing data team and fulfill the role of ensuring the readiness and availability of databases necessary for production, recommending solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, maintaining activity logs, and performing software patching and backup routines. Additional responsibilities may include supervising a team of database engineers, updating existing and creating new documentation, supporting technical and operational meetings on system status and issues, projecting long-term requirements, and preparing regular progress reports. The greater team is building and deploying a next-generation modeling & simulation framework. We are less focused on specific M&S experience than finding innovative, self-starters who can adapt to a fast-paced, high-profile development effort. This work may be performed in either of our Huntsville, AL or Dayton, OH locations. Remote work is possible for this position.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain Secret Clearance or greater with the Department of Defense

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in database administration
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, Mongo DB
  • Experience effectively communicating project status with technical managers and government leadership.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiar with JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) data-interchange format.
  • Familiar with Extensible Markup Language (XML)
  • Database Performance Tuning experience
  • Experience with RedHat, CentOS, and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with Java and Python

The anticipated compensation for the position is $100,000 to $155,000 based on a full-time schedule. Your compensation will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience, and education.
