Description
Define requirements, execution of design, analysis, development, and testing in connection with engineering projects for vehicle active safety components. Develop and release active safety and vehicle automated driving technologies. Strive to deliver integration of advanced technology into GM portfolio, from features and systems like Super Cruise and Invisible Trailer. Design and release active safety electronic components, including elements of hardware and software. Drive design for manufacturing (DFM) initiatives and develop Component Technical Specifications (CTS), Statement of Requirements (SOR), and Sub-System Technical Specifications (SSTS). Collaborate with component suppliers and supplier resident engineers. Perform complex design analysis and tackle engineering-related problems. Analyze and negotiate requirements with internal and external partners and trace their implementation throughout product development and integration. Works with engineering functions, suppliers, plant personnel, and others to implement cost reduction, methods, and product improvements, and to support build programs. Release parts and subsystems for production. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-Office, 2 Days Remote - Must be able to report to local office

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field of study and five (5) years of experience as a Design Release Engineer, Active Safety Engineer, Vehicle Safety Engineer, or related engineering role. Three (3) years of experience with the following: Preparing Component Technical Specifications (CTS), Statements of Requirements (SOR), and Sub-System Technical Specifications (SSTS); defining technical requirements for ADAS electronic control units; ISO-26262; vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, LIN and ethernet; project management in an engineering environment; engineering mechanics, electronics, physics, and manufacturing methods; developing and defining EOCM or active safety Control Module performance requirements according to technical specification; and working through Engineering Change Management processes.
