Role and Responsibilities- Lead Complex Cloud Infrastructure and System Tasks: Perform advanced cloud infrastructure management, including designing, provisioning, and automating complex services in AWS, following established procedures. Utilize AWS CDK for infrastructure automation in AWS. Provide strategic feedback and drive cross-team improvements.
- Drive Resolution of High-Complexity Issues: Lead the resolution of high-complexity issues affecting multiple systems or teams. Collaborate across functions to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve critical infrastructure problems.
- Lead and Manage Cross-Functional Projects: Lead the execution of team-wide and cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering results on time. Manage project timelines, assign resources, and provide technical leadership throughout.
- Technical Representation and Client Engagement: Represent the DevOps team in key communications with clients, providing technical expertise and ensuring client needs are met. Act as the technical point of contact for cross-functional teams within the organization.
- Mentor and Train Team Members: Develop and implement training programs for junior team members, ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development. Serve as a mentor and coach, fostering technical growth and guiding team members on best practices.
- Strategic Implementation and Process Improvement: Support the implementation of the company’s strategic direction and initiatives. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the DevOps team, optimizing workflows, processes, and tools for greater efficiency and scalability.
- Cross-Organizational Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as development, security, and product teams, to align DevOps processes with organizational goals. Ensure seamless integration of DevOps methodologies across functions.
- 4-8 years' experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering
- Successfully completed AWS Solutions Architect – Professional exam
- Proven client communication skills
- Proven documentation, presentation, and communication skills internally and externally
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- University Degree with 4-8 years of domain experience. Master's degree with 2-6 years domain experience. Doctorate with 0-4 years domain experience.
- Advanced DevOps skills: Expertise in AWS including AWS CDK, and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible), and CI/CD pipeline management
- Strong leadership and project management skills: Ability to organize, plan, and monitor work, make trade-offs, and ensure high-quality deliverables on time
- Client and internal team collaboration: Skilled in liaising with clients and internal teams to resolve significant issues and ensure alignment
- Big picture thinking: Capable of driving team efforts to meet organizational goals and foster cross-functional improvements
- Root cause analysis and process improvement: Expertise in identifying and solving complex technical issues and optimizing processes
- Cross-functional team leadership: Able to lead and collaborate effectively with teams across multiple departments
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional Certification
- Proficiency with DevOps tools: Git, Docker, CI/CD pipeline tools, ECS and Codespaces
- Advanced cloud platform expertise: AWS, including services like EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS
- Expertise in automation and orchestration tools: CloudFormation and AWS CDK
- Scripting proficiency: Python, Bash, or similar languages for automation tasks
- Expertise with monitoring tools with experience in CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent for system monitoring and alerting
- Proficiency in documentation and collaboration tools: MS Office, Jira, and Confluence
- Project management tools: Jira, or similar platforms for managing workflows and team projects
- Expertise in DevOps-specific activities: Proven experience in managing AWS cloud infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD processes
- Successful delivery of small to medium-sized projects: Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver projects on time and within scope
- Experience in creating and delivering training programs: Skilled in mentoring and training junior team members and peers
- Process improvement experience: Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt methodologies for driving operational efficiency
- Experience in the green energy or utilities domain
- Experience with a U.S. based company
- Advanced DevOps skills: Expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD pipelines
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills: Ability to effectively diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
- Strong communication skills: Ability to distill complex technical information and present it an understandable manner appropriate for the audience
- Training creation and process improvement: Skilled in developing training materials and driving continuous process improvement initiatives
