Why you'll love this Nue.io opportunity! We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who is passionate about architecting, building, and scaling world-class infrastructure that drives meaningful business outcomes.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of cloud infrastructure on AWS/k8s, Salesforce Platform Tooling, and GitOps workflows. You'll mentor fellow engineers, champion engineering excellence, and partner closely with leadership to ensure our platform scales reliably and securely as our customer base grows rapidly.
You'll work with — and make key technology decisions around — OpenTofu/Terraform, Bash/Shell Scripting, AWS, Kubernetes (k8s), Containers, and the Salesforce Platform (bonus points for Java, Node.js, Python). You'll play a central role in defining our infrastructure strategy and setting the standard for reliability, scalability, security, and performance across all systems.
- Help define the infrastructure roadmap for cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and platform tooling in alignment with company goals
- Architect and evolve existing systems and architectures to support growth at scale, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency
- Mentor and uplift the team — provide technical leadership and mentorship to DevOps and platform engineers; conduct design reviews and raise the bar through best practices
- Lead AI-driven automation initiatives — leverage AI and automation strategically to 10x development velocity, quality, and operational excellence across the engineering org
- Drive cross-functional initiatives spanning DevOps, infrastructure, quality assurance, observability, and security to strengthen our technical systems and operations
- Own platform/cloud infrastructure end-to-end — design, secure, and scale AWS/k8s systems; drive GitOps with Terraform/OpenTofu; define SLOs and improve reliability and observability; partner with Product, Engineering, and Security leadership to deliver business outcomes
- Lead Salesforce DevOps strategy — architect and operate enterprise-grade CI/CD with SF CLI; define environment strategy (scratch orgs/sandboxes); manage metadata vs. unlocked packages; enforce quality gates, change governance, and release management processes
- Own security and compliance posture — strengthen security and authentication frameworks, drive compliance initiatives, and ensure audit readiness in line with evolving customer and regulatory requirements
- Establish and enforce engineering standards — define code review practices, contribution guidelines, and infrastructure-as-code standards across the organization
- Lead incident response and reliability — drive root-cause analysis for production issues, implement systemic fixes, and continuously improve incident management processes
- Serve as an escalation point in on-call rotations, coordinating resolution of critical and complex incidents
- Collaborate with engineering and business leadership to align technical priorities with strategic business objectives and communicate trade-offs effectively
- Evaluate and champion emerging technologies — stay ahead of industry trends and advocate for continuous improvement, driving adoption of tools and practices that provide measurable value
- 6+ years of experience scaling production SaaS platforms or distributed systems
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Terraform/OpenTofu & Kubernetes in production environments
- Demonstrated technical leadership — track record of mentoring engineers, leading design reviews, and driving architectural decisions
- Relentlessly leverage AI tooling to 10x efficiency — use AI for rapid development; turn hours into minutes and minutes into seconds with automation-first thinking
- Deep experience and/or certification with cloud computing (AWS preferred; GCP/Azure also valued)
- Expert-level knowledge of relational databases (performance optimization, replication, sharding, indexing, query tuning)
- Advanced proficiency in Bash, shell scripting, and Linux system administration
- Strong experience with NoSQL technologies (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB)
- Proven experience architecting highly available, scalable web applications & microservices with industry best practices
- Deep understanding of CI/CD systems for distributed services, including pipeline design, release strategies, and deployment automation
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills — ability to influence across teams and present to leadership
- Strong commitment to high-quality code standards, the GitOps philosophy, and infrastructure-as-code principles
- Strong Salesforce CLI (sf), Salesforce APIs, and CumulusCI experience for automated deployments, scripting, and environment orchestration
- Proven CI/CD architecture with GitLab, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions; advanced Git practices (PRs, branching strategies, protected branches); quality gates with PMD/SFDX Scanner, Apex/LWC tests, and coverage thresholds
- Solid grasp of Salesforce metadata strategy, unlocked packages, dependency resolution, and profiles/permission sets management
- Environment strategy expertise across DevHub, scratch orgs, and sandboxes; data seeding/masking, configuration drift prevention, and reliable rollback patterns
- Advanced Terraform/OpenTofu and GitOps expertise; deep cloud knowledge in AWS (VPC, IAM, EKS, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront) and Kubernetes (including Helm, service mesh, and cluster management)
- Practical observability expertise (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana, or Datadog), SLO-driven alerting, and capacity planning
- Security-first mindset: IAM/SSO architecture, secrets management, least-privilege design, zero-trust principles, and audit-ready change governance
- Ability to architect, review, and contribute to code/pipelines in Node.js/TypeScript, Java, or Python
- Experience with cost optimization strategies for cloud infrastructure
- Competitive compensation and benefits that reward your talent and impact.
- Comprehensive health, vision, dental, and life insurance
- A front-row seat in the Silicon Valley tech ecosystem, where you’ll work on cutting-edge challenges shaping the future of SaaS, finance, and payments.
