We’re seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with an emphasis in Security to help secure and scale the next generation of blockchain infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll be at the intersection of security, automation, and distributed systems, building trust and resilience into the networks that power tomorrow’s decentralized world. You’ll take ownership of hardening complex hybrid environments from bare-metal validators to multi-cloud clusters ensuring our systems are both fast and fortress-strong.

This is a full-time remote position, with team members based across Americas and Europe.

How you will make an impact- You’ll embed security controls and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines across blockchain infrastructure.
- You’ll design, harden, and monitor hybrid infrastructure, including bare-metal, on-prem, and cloud environments.
- Collaborating with team members on system upgrades, deployments, and issue resolution
- You’ll collaborate with our Security Architect to assess risk, define secure configurations, and drive defense-indepth strategies.
- You’ll automate everything from node provisioning to SSL renewals using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Helm.
- You’ll manage and secure blockchain validator nodes (e.g., Layers 1 & 2), ensuring high availability and ZERO trust network posture.
- You’ll handle key and certificate lifecycle operations, including TLS/SSL renewals, secrets governance, and access control policies.
- You’ll contribute to observability and incident response, using platforms like Datadog, and custom dashboards.
- Participating in the on-call rotation for monitoring, alerting, and incident response for production blockchain deployments
- Collaborating with protocol teams to deploy and launch new blockchain protocols
- You’ll audit and continuously improve infrastructure security against industry standards like CIS and NIST.
- You’ll lead/mentor cross-team initiatives to strengthen our overall security posture and operational excellence.
- 5+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineer, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering, with at least 3 years in DevSecOps or Security Engineering with strong hands-on skills.
- Strong expertise in Linux systems, networking, and secure architecture design. Used to deep shell/ Python/ Go / IaC.
- Proven success managing hybrid environments (bare-metal and cloud).
- Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated provisioning.
- Experience managing SSL/TLS certificates, secrets, and identity lifecycle.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Hands-on understanding of firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills. You make security approachable, not bureaucratic.
- A proactive mindset, incredible critical-thinking, you see risks early and turn them into plans and drive it as opportunities for improvement always sharing and mentoring your teammates.
- Experience operating Blockchain Layer 1 & 2 and add-ons features on blockchain network eco-systems.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust security models or distributed key-sharing frameworks.
- Exposure to SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliance initiatives
- Experience building or integrating custom security tooling.
- Familiarity with hardware security modules (HSMs) and cryptographic key management Hashicorp Vault systems**.**

Base Salary: The CAD base salary range for this position is CAD $170,000 - $190,000. This range reflects base salary only, and does not include additional compensation or benefits. For candidates in other countries, the pay range will be disclosed upon your first interview with Figment (being a globally remote company, the list of salary ranges would simply be too long to note here!). The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum range for a new hire across all Canada or the US. A candidate’s specific pay within the range will be determined by various factors including job-related skills, relevant education, and training.
