1. Operational Supplier Quality Management

  • Manage and handle non-conformity reports (Q2/Q4) in coordination with suppliers (e.g., 8D process).
  • Drive root cause analysis and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure documentation of problem-solving reports and robust closure of issues in quality systems.

2. Supplier Qualification & Development

  • Support qualification of new products within existing part families.
  • Manage first article inspection (FAI) planning, execution, and approval.
  • Conduct or support supplier audits (VDA 6.3, ISO 9001) and technology gate reviews (TG).
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier capabilities and identify quality risks.

3. KPI Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track and report supplier quality KPIs (e.g., PPM, NCR trends, 8D timeliness).
  • Define and maintain supplier scorecards in collaboration with procurement and technical teams.

4. Commodity & Strategy Support

  • Serve as internal competence specialist for Hydraulic & Instrumentation commodities.
  • Collaborate with Commodity Engineering and Strategic Purchasing to develop supplier strategies.
  • Contribute to the deployment of BU-wide SQM strategy and drive local implementation actions.

5. Customer & Contractual Requirements

  • Support definition of customer-specific quality requirements and ensure Back-to-Back alignment with suppliers.
  • Ensure adherence to legal, safety, and compliance aspects relevant to hydraulic and instrumentation products.
