At Clarity RCM, we are building the operating system private medical practices in the United States, and we are building the team that builds it in Chennai. This is a role for an engineering manager who wants to lead a strong team on a real product, not run a maintenance queue. This role isn't about "keeping the lights on." This is about building the platform that thousands of independent medical practices will run their businesses on. If you want your next chapter measured in what you shipped, not what you maintained, read on.
What you'll leadYou will lead a team of strong backend and frontend engineers building the core systems that move money and run operations for 200+ dermatology practices. You will own delivery and quality for your team, grow the engineers on it, and help set the technical direction alongside global leadership teams.
A few of the systems your team works on:
- An event-sourced claims engine that is becoming the system of record for the practices we serve. A ground-up rebuild of how medical claims are created, validated, submitted, and reconciled. Greenfield, ambitious, and consequential.
- A modern payments platform, handling patient payments, surcharging, and practice payouts at scale.
- AI-native operations. We build with large language models as a first-class part of the stack, from client-health monitoring to internal agents that do real operational work. Not AI bolted on as a feature. Part of how the company runs
- Lead, grow, and mentor a team of engineers, and help each of them reach their potential.
- Own delivery for your team: plan well, ship value quickly, and keep momentum without sacrificing quality.
- Stay close to the technology. Set technical direction for distributed systems, APIs, and modern web applications, and go hands-on when it unblocks the team or cracks a hard problem.
- Push for the simplest path that works. Encourage healthy debate, push back on overly complex solutions, and once a decision is made, move forward together.
- Raise the bar on the things that compound: code quality, testing, observability, and operational excellence.
- Partner with product and design to turn business needs into clear engineering goals.
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead, with real ownership of a team's delivery and growth.
- Strong backend foundations in distributed systems (C#/.NET, Python, orchestration, cloud-native), with enough frontend fluency (React, Next.js, TypeScript) to lead engineers across the stack.
- A track record of mentoring engineers and growing senior contributors.
- A clear, direct communicator who can challenge assumptions, disagree well, and still build trust across teams and time zones.
- Comfort making trade-offs and simplifying to ship faster.
- Fluency with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
