Job Introduction:
The Global Finance Technology Organization is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our Reinsurance Transformation Team. If selected, you will have the opportunity to leverage your skills to build tools and solutions used to enable our Reinsurance team's critical operations. You will work on a technology stack consisting of AWS, React, and relational databases.
We're looking for a passionate Full Stack Developer to join our small, agile team focused on modernizing historical applications in the reinsurance space. You'll be working with cutting-edge AWS technologies, including AWS Glue and event-driven architecture, while leveraging modern UI frameworks like React, Node.js, and Python. Our projects involve new development initiatives and transforming legacy systems, using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to ensure scalable, efficient delivery. About the job:
- Collaborating closely with a team of software engineers to deliver complex software solutions.
- Designs & Develops maintainable, scalable, defect free source code that meets business requirements and team standards
- Working in an agile environment with business stakeholders, product owners, solutions engineer and other software engineers to review and refine stories and execute on them using excellent engineering practices.
- Using your technical knowledge to analyze technical system problems and design and implement effective solutions.
- Hands-on development and problem resolution, writing clean, maintainable code and perform peer code-reviews.
- Embracing and modeling engineering excellence and best practices.
- Contributing to the development and growth of the team.
- Being curious and innovating using new tools and techniques.
- Providing periodic production deployments and support.
- Optimizing performance for the applications & web.
- Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience, technical degree preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of Full Stack Engineering experience.
- Proficiency in software engineering languages and tools, including Java and RESTful services, spanning horizontal and vertical packages (Relational Database Experience, Infrastructure As Code, React, JavaScript, Typescript and CICD with GitHub actions / Jenkins or similar)
- Cloud exposure, AWS - lambda, step functions, SNS, SQS, Azure - App Tiers, Team Services.
- A history of translating client requirements into technical designs.
- Agile engineering capabilities and a design-thinking mindset.
- Collaboration, adaptability, flexibility and the ability to manage time and prioritize work with a globally distributed development team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills - and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineers.
- A thorough grasp of IT concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture and technical standards, shared software concepts and layered solutions and designs.
- An understanding of how modifications affect different parts of a system and an ability to explain your decision-making process to non-engineers.
