We are looking for an exceptional Senior Golang Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will design and build highly scalable backend services, distributed systems, and API infrastructure that power Workato's automation platform. You will collaborate closely with product, UI, connectivity, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to deliver elegant, reliable, and high-performance solutions to complex engineering challenges.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance connectors using Golang.
- Provide technical leadership in microservices architecture, establishing best practices for RESTful and gRPC API design.
- Contribute throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from design through deployment and maintenance.
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Conduct deep performance tuning and optimization to eliminate bottlenecks in high-scale production environments.
- Participate in architecture discussions and propose improvements to existing systems.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve system stability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to engineering practices.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend systems.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing production applications with Golang.
- Strong experience building and scaling distributed, highly available systems.
- Strong understanding of Go concurrency patterns — goroutines, channels, context management
- Solid knowledge of object-oriented and idiomatic Go design principles
- Experience designing and building REST APIs and microservices.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, HTTP, gRPC, and messaging systems.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and caching technologies including Redis or Memcached.
- Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a broad audience and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience writing unit, integration, and performance tests.
- Contributions to Open Source projects are a plus.
