Summary:
We are looking for a technically adept Virtualization Engineer specializing in Linux, KVM-based virtualization and proficient in managing infrastructure using Apache CloudStack as an orchestration layer. The ideal candidate should excel in automation, leveraging Ansible and Python scripting to streamline operations and enhance scalability in virtualized environments. Knowledge of VMware and AWS experience would be an added advantage.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage KVM-based virtualization environments as per organizational needs.
- Utilize Apache CloudStack for orchestration, configuration management, and provisioning of virtual resources.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible and Python to automate routine tasks such as provisioning, monitoring, and configuration management.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code principles to ensure consistency and repeatability in deployments.
- Monitor virtualization infrastructure performance, identifying bottlenecks and optimizing resource allocation.
- Implement proactive measures to ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Implement security best practices and compliance measures in virtualized environments.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, addressing findings promptly.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for complex virtualization issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve escalated incidents and ensure smooth operation of virtualized systems.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in designing and managing KVM-based virtualization environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Apache CloudStack for orchestration and management of virtualized infrastructure.
- Strong scripting skills with proficiency in Ansible and Python for automation of infrastructure tasks.
- Familiarity with VMware virtualization technologies is a plus.
- Experience deploying and managing virtualized instances on AWS cloud would be a plus.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, storage technologies, and virtualization architectures.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently and provide effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Relevant certifications such as RHCE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar credentials preferred.
