As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Oversight and Governance Team which is aligned to Corporate Technology division, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Job responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Adds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Strong technical background, deep understanding of both cloud infra and indexing/search technologies with hands on experience in building cloud native applications handling web scale data
- Experience in architecting, designing, building and delivering productized Indexing & Search capabilities at scale
- Polyglot programmer with experience in at least one functional programming language(s)
- Hands-on practical experience in building diagnostic and self healing capabilities for operational stability
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Strong understanding and experience in designing, developing, and deploying microservices.
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Ability to work closely with architects on both high-level and low-level design aspects.
- Develop unit cost models and drive cost optimization
- Proficiency in Java for backend development along with experience in AWS services for cloud computing and deployment, in Addition to Frontend development skills with React. Experience with SQL and NO-SQL and storage technologies. Experience with AI tools like Codeium and Copilot to enhance development efficiency and productivity.
