Senior Microservices & Cloud Engineer – AWS, Java, TypeScript, Kafka & AI Integration
Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the development and support of scalable, high-performance microservices and event-driven applications in cloud environments. This role focuses on delivering secure, reliable, and reusable solutions that support enterprise digital transformation initiatives. You will collaborate across teams to translate complex requirements into effective engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and industry best practices, including observability, security, and emerging AI/ML solutions. Your efforts will enable operational excellence and scalable growth for the organization.
Software Requirements
Required:
Proficiency in Java (version 8+) with experience in Spring Boot for building scalable, resilient microservices
Strong skills in TypeScript, JavaScript (Node.js), and front-end frameworks such as React (TS)
Hands-on experience designing microservices and event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms
Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, Lambda, ECS/Fargate, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudFormation, CDK
Containerization with Docker, orchestrated with Kubernetes
Automation and CI/CD pipelines: GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy
Monitoring and observability: Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry
Security best practices including secrets management (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager) and certificate lifecycle management
Preferred:
Experience integrating AI/ML models or ChatGPT for automation or support tools
Familiarity with model management frameworks (e.g., MCP), enterprise analytics platforms, or advanced Kubernetes deployments
Overall Responsibilities
Architect, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and event-driven systems supporting business operations
Build resilient APIs, message streams, and serverless functions optimized for performance and reliability
Implement and oversee observability strategies, including dashboards, KPI tracking, and alerting for system health
Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and environment management using IaC tools
Solve complex technical challenges, address technical debt pragmatically, and optimize system performance
Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, and security stakeholders to ensure compliance and security standards
Lead technical reviews and mentor junior developers to uphold engineering best practices
Incorporate emerging AI/ML capabilities to improve automation and intelligent support solutions
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for system efficiency, security, and cost management

Experience Requirements
4–7+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable microservices and event-driven architectures
Proven track record deploying cloud-native solutions on AWS
Experience working within enterprise environments supporting high-availability and security standards
Familiarity with AI/ML tools and integrations (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain production systems at scale
Day-to-Day Activities
Architect and develop microservices, APIs, and event-driven streams to meet functional and performance goals
Optimize system latency, throughput, and scalability through profiling and tuning
Automate infrastructure, CI/CD workflows, and deployment pipelines for rapid, reliable releases
Monitor system health using observability tools, proactively resolving issues
Collaborate with product and security teams to embed best practices and compliance standards
Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor team members
Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident management in production environments
Research and incorporate advanced cloud, security, and AI tools to evolve platform capabilities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
4+ years of experience in microservices, cloud-native development, and automation
Industry certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Kubernetes Administrator, or DevOps Engineer are preferred
Strong understanding of security, compliance, and observability standards in enterprise environments
