Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Numerical modeler/ Coastal Engineer to join our team in Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and applying advanced numerical models to analyze and solve complex coastal engineering problems.
- Develop, calibrate, and validate numerical models for coastal and marine environments
- Analyze coastal processes, including hydrodynamics, sediment transport, and wave dynamics
- Design and implement coastal protection strategies and erosion control measures
- Conduct data analysis and create visualizations to support decision-making processes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on coastal engineering projects
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in numerical modeling techniques and coastal engineering practices
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders
- Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for coastal management and climate change adaptation
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in coastal engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in numerical modeling software such as MIKE, Delft3D, Telemac, or SWAN
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Fortan, Python, MATLAB,
- Advanced data analysis and visualization skills
- In-depth knowledge of coastal processes, sediment transport, and wave dynamics
- Familiarity with coastal protection strategies and climate change impacts on coastal areas
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
- Willingness to travel occasionally for field work and client meetings
- Ability to handle projects independently.
