Operate and improve enterprise OCI platforms: design and build secure OCI landing zones, drive steady-state operations (monitoring, patching, backups, incident response), implement guardrails and automation (Terraform, OCI Resource Manager), collaborate with cross-functional teams, and produce runbooks/SOPs and operational readiness artifacts to ensure resiliency, security, performance, and cost optimization.
Experienced hands-on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure professional who thrives in managed services environments and knows how to keep enterprise cloud platforms secure, resilient, optimized, and operating at scale. Ideal candidate is delivery-focused, comfortable working with cross-functional teams, able to support mission-critical workloads, design and build OCI landing zones, follow Oracle OCI best practices, and help clients continuously improve performance, reliability, security, and cost.
ResponsibilitiesDrive steady-state operations including monitoring, alert tuning, patch planning, backup validation, capacity reviews, incident response, and problem management
- Collaborate with cloud engineers, DBAs, network teams, security teams, service delivery managers, and customer stakeholders during operational reviews and service improvement activities
- Assess, design, build, and improve OCI environments and landing zones using Oracle well-architected principles across security and compliance, reliability and resilience, performance and cost optimization, operational efficiency, and distributed cloud
- Implement and maintain OCI operational guardrails including compartments, IAM policies, network segmentation, logging, monitoring, alarms, tagging, budgets, backups, and disaster recovery controls
- Standardize reusable runbooks, operating procedures, health checks, remediation patterns, and automation aligned to Oracle-recommended operating practices
- Participate in operational readiness, transition-to-run, knowledge transfer, and handoff activities for newly implemented or migrated OCI workloads
- Use operational data, alerts, capacity trends, security findings, and cost reports to recommend and implement continuous service improvements
- Serve as a technical contributor for managed services issues across OCI operations, cloud security, performance, backup/recovery, resiliency, and automation
- 10+ years delivering enterprise infrastructure, cloud, platform operations, or managed services solutions
- Deep, hands-on experience operating Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services including compute, VCN, FastConnect, load balancing, storage, IAM, security, monitoring, logging, alarms, events, and budgets
- Strong operational knowledge of Oracle database platforms on OCI, including Exadata Cloud Service, Autonomous Database, backup/recovery, patching, Data Guard, disaster recovery, and performance management
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining secure OCI landing zones, network segmentation, identity models, encryption, key management, logging, auditing, compliance controls, and operational guardrails
- Experience working in managed services operations, incident and problem management, change planning, service reviews, transition-to-run, and continuous improvement
- Experience with automation for managed operations using Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, scripts, CI/CD pipelines, event-driven remediation, and infrastructure-as-code
- Ability to create practical managed services artifacts including runbooks, SOPs, operational readiness checklists, health check reports, RCA documents, service improvement plans, and transition documentation
