Provides technical leadership for Python software development, including designing scalable server-side applications, defining technology approaches, reviewing code, mentoring engineers, resolving performance issues, and deploying solutions across test and production environments. Collaborates with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and external teams while contributing to roadmaps, prototypes, documentation, automation, risk mitigation, and continuous development-process improvement.
This role demands a Principal Software Engineer who provides technical leadership in designing,
developing and optimizing complex software systems using Python. The principal engineer will set coding
standards, mentor junior developers and collaborate with cross functional teams to align tech solutions
with business objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to defining the technology roadmap and approach, solution for the designated
application, Products assigned
• Design & implement efficient server-side applications in python (flask, Django, etc.)
• Collaborate with external team to align technical strategies and overall business objectives and
build POCs for new use cases.
• Peer code review and coaching/mentoring junior team members.
• Enable automation of code quality checks and enforce to ensure Coding/Design standards
• Resolve technical blockers, performance issues as needed within application, cloud or database.
• Deploy solutions to test environment and elevate the solution to prod environments.
• Provide input and/or own technical, solution documentation and associated deliverables
• Co-ordinate with Architects, Product Owners/ Business to gather non-functional requirements
and implement the solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement in development process and tools to enhance overall efficiency
and quality
• Proactive to Identify risks and provide possible solutions to mitigate them.
• Demonstrate technical delivery accountability for the projects assigned and deliver as per the
schedule commitments with quality.
Requirements
• 9-12 years of experience in Software development out of which 5-6 years’ experience in python
development – Demonstrate Git lab Projects delivered on expertise in Python Packages,
Performance Tuning
• Strong skills of applying Data structures and algorithms in application development
• At least 3 years of experience in building scalable applications
• Strong understanding of web services and implementation experience in RESTFUL Web Services
• 8+ years of experience in SQL/NoSQL/PGSQL/MySQL and solid understanding/exposure to
database management + Performance Tuning
• 3+ years of experience in GCP (Preferred) or any other cloud platform – Performance Tuning
(Must), Exposure to Optimal Infrastructure Configurations, Capacity Planning experience will
be good
• Ability to quickly produce prototypes and proof of concepts.
• Ability to articulate complex technical scenarios and solutions to Architects, leadership teams.
• Experience and willingness to mentor other engineers and help develop their skills and
leadership skills.
Good to have Skills:
• Significant experience in JavaScript, Nodejs framework, CICD is a plus.
