Job Description

About the Role
Role: Senior Subject Matter Expert – Web Development
Location: Remote (India)

We’re seeking an experienced MERN Stack professional to join our academic operations team as a Senior Subject Matter Expert. In this pivotal role, you'll ensure the technical excellence and educational effectiveness of our software engineering curriculum, mentor junior experts, manage critical escalations, report regularly to leadership, and streamline academic workflows—ultimately delivering a superior learning experience for students.
 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Quality & Review

• Audit and validate content submitted by SMEs for technical accuracy, clarity, and instructional consistency.

• Maintain detailed performance reports and metrics for SMEs, Mentors (MNEs), and Facilitators.

2. Mentorship & Coaching

• Mentor and coach SMEs and Facilitators on best practices in technical content delivery and problem-solving.

• Conduct structured mentoring sessions and provide on-demand video-based support.

3. Escalation Management

• Triage and address escalated academic or technical queries swiftly and effectively.

• Assign and guide SMEs to resolve escalations, ensuring timely and satisfactory student support.

4. Academic Operations & Coordination

• Lead weekly curriculum-bug reviews in Asana, ensuring timely resolution of tasks.

• Schedule and coordinate mentorship sessions, live chat, and offline support shifts.

• Oversee grading workflows to maintain consistent and uninterrupted academic support.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with MNEs, Vendor Coaches, Teaching Experts, and the Growth team to refine course materials and support mechanisms.

• Contribute proactively to the Module Health Program by identifying and addressing content and pedagogical gaps.

6. Continuous Improvement & Special Projects

• Initiate and lead special projects aimed at enhancing learner experience, content quality, and operational efficiency.

• Recommend and implement improvements to academic processes and introduce effective educational tools.

Success Metrics

• Maintain ≥ 95% content review accuracy.

• Achieve ≥ 90% SLA compliance for escalated support queries.

• Ensure ≥ 80% of weekly Asana curriculum issues are resolved within the sprint.

• Demonstrable improvement in engagement and performance of mentored SMEs and Facilitators.

Required Skills:

• Technical Expertise: MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js),

JavaScript (ES6+), REST APIs, Git, Full-stack debugging, SQL/PostgreSQL.

• Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, logical thinking, and

meticulous attention to detail.

• Leadership & Communication:

o Proven track record in mentoring or managing technical teams.

o Excellent verbal and written communication for effective collaboration across teams.

o Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a dynamic environment.
 

Experience & Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of relevant experience in technical review, curriculum development, or academic support roles.

• Proven ability to consistently drive high-quality content and instructional integrity.

• Prior experience managing or mentoring technical teams is highly preferred.
