BlackLineSaaS is the system of interaction for finance and accounting teams and it integrates with numerous ERPs, CRMs, Payment systems, Point of Sale systems and other applications.
As a Sr. Software Engineer in Test, you will play a crucial role in the success of our company by contributing to, as well as driving, high-quality releases and value-delivery to our customers. In this role, you will be automating tests for web-based, mobile applications and RESTful APIs to support our high-transaction and big-data SaaS applications. Your attention to detail, tenacity, creative problem-solving and forward thinking will directly impact the company's success, as well as the success of your peers across the organization. By following and evangelizing quality standards, as well as overall SDLC processes as they relate to quality, you will be able to affect meaningful change in the organization and help drive our culture to a quality and customer-first mentality.
You'll Get To:

  • Design, develop, test, optimize , scale, maintain and improve highly scalable and secure distributed backend services while adhering to requirements, coding and quality standards.
  • Develop functional and technical specifications, and test plans. Review others' code.
  • Help in project planning by identifying cross-team dependencies and effort estimation.
  • Actively participate and contribute to architecture and design of complex problems.
  • Implement, refine, and enforce software development techniques to ensure that delivered features meet software integration, performance, security, and maintainability expectations.
  • Research, test, benchmark, and evaluate new tools and technologies, and recommend ways to implement them in product development.
  • Maintain high standards of software quality and technical excellence within the team by establishing good practices and writing clean, testable, maintainable, and secure code.
  • Proactively identify issues (by analyzing monitor functions), bottlenecks, gaps, or other areas of concerns or opportunities and work to either directly affect change, or advocate for that change.
  • Perform critical maintenance, deployment, and release support activities, including occasional off-hours support


What You'll Bring:
Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 7 + years of Software Development experience using Java
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in building Web Applications, SaaS products, and RESTful APIs.
  • Strong experience with Spring/Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
  • Experience with cloud (Azure, AWW or GCP) is preferred
  • Experience with SaaS programming environment and service-oriented architecture.
  • Fluent in the fundamental OO concepts of the Responsibility Driven Design (RDD), proven experience with designing own OO models, reusable components and frameworks.
  • Passion for engineering excellence through automation, unit testing, and process improvements.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, including stored procedures, data models, and transactional flows.


We're Even More Excited If You Have:

  • Good knowledge of internet security issues in software design and code.
  • Experience with API gateway, identity management, authentication, messaging platforms (e.g: Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ), workflow orchestration tools, job scheduling and search.
  • Experience designing and scaling high performance systems.
  • Experience with container management solutions like Mesos, Kubernetes or Nomad.
  • Experience with ERP systems like MS Dynamics-365, Oracle, NetSuite, Intacct is a plus
  • Experience with open source tools.
  • FinTech or Financial services domain background.
  • Prior working experience in Scrum, or other Agile development methodologies, is preferred.
  • Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JavaScript Frameworks, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with data integration and middleware software tools is a plus
