The OpenShift Engineering Automated Release Tooling team (https://www.redhat.com/en/technologies/cloud-computing/openshift) is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will work as a member of a team responsible for designing, implementing, operating, improving, and maintaining the software systems used to build, test, and release OpenShift.

 

An engineer in this position will become deeply familiar with the enterprise grade OpenShift (https://www.redhat.com/en/technologies/cloud-computing/openshift) build systems and processes to ensure that product releases and critical fixes are delivered on time to customers. You will help design and implement changes to those processes to satisfy new requirements from across Red Hat.You will thoroughly analyze those processes to improve instrumentation, transparency, speed, accuracy, and reliability.

What you will do
  • Operate build systems

  • Help analyze and continuously improve build systems

  • Investigate, debug, and provide guidance for fixing failing builds

  • Integrate new components into build system

  • Support Quality Engineering teams

  • Support Development Teams testing builds

  • Demo automation improvements

  • Document build processes

What you will bring
  • Strong proficiency in Python

  • Experience with Continuous Integration systems

  • Experience with Kubernetes or Openshift 

  • Strong expertise of using with RHEL/Fedora Linux based operating systems

  • Experience with git and working in teams on GitHub

  • Experience working with and debugging complex interconnected systems

  • Experience with container build and runtime software applications

  • Good communication skills in English​

  • Experience with the golang programming language is a plus
