Title: Senior Software Engineer
The Group: The IWPT Marketplace team at Morningstar is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of our applications built using .NET Framework and Front-end technologies like VueJS and Angular. These applications are vital for our users i.e. Financial Advisors ensuring the smooth operation of their financial systems.
The Role: As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development, reliability, and performance of our applications. You will be working as a full-stack developer and collaborate closely with stakeholders and internal teams to develop new features, enhance functionality, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Work as a full-stack developer for the development and maintenance of applications using .NET Core and front-end javascript frameworks (preferably VueJS/Angular).
- Collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams for design and development of new features and enhancements, resolving issues in application.
- Design and implement enhancements to improve the reliability, performance, and usability of our applications.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to enhance their development skills.
- Document development processes, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions to ensure knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in .NET Framework, front-end frameworks (VueJS/Angular) for enterprise grade applications using micro-services pattern.
- Experience with modern development practices in areas of Product design, Requirement Analysis, Test Driven Development, Automation & Unit Testing, in a product development environment
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases and queries.
- Self-Motivated, Quick Learner & Expertise in troubleshooting and debugging techniques.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and take end to end ownership of development.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software development or a related field.
- Experience developing and supporting distributed applications or similar financial systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of financial markets.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
