ABOUT THIS ROLE
Join our Apex Platform Sustaining Engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer, where you will play a vital role in improving and maintaining the functionality, reliability, and safety of our Software development toolkit. Your day-to-day activities may involve collaborative system design and development, and exploring innovative technologies. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a team of experienced developers in building robust, high-volume, and high-availability platform systems that drive the Apex ecosystem and modern investment applications forward.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Design and Development: Develop and maintain high-performance, high-throughput services for specific business use-cases.

Code Quality Assurance: Uphold well-tested code standards and promote high code quality across the team through meticulous code reviews and adherence to best practices.

Documentation and Training: Ensure proper documentation, guidelines, and best practices for your services. Participate in training sessions to ensure teams understand and follow best practices effectively.

Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor the performance and reliability of our services, identifying bottlenecks and potential issues and perform on-call support. Assist in the optimization of infrastructure to ensure efficient delivery.

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between engineering activities and business goals. Assist in communicating updates, enhancements, and changes to relevant teams. Participate in post-implementation reviews and provide recommendations for improvement.

Technical Leadership: Offer support and guidance to junior engineers on best practices and procedures. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Expertise in one or more server-side programming languages including: Java, Go and Python
-
Familiarity with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), cloud platforms (GCP, AWS), build and CI tools (Bazel, Github actions)

Experience working with modern database systems (e.g. Bigquery, Postgres, Mongo, Redis, etc)

A DevSecOps mindset and a driving desire to deliver value through software.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Education and/or Experience:
-
Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, or a related field.

5+ years of professional experience working as a part of a multi-person development team, doing code reviews, testing, CI, trunk-based development, and/or other software practices.

Experience and/or passion with Financial Markets, Execution Platforms, Foreign Exchange, Cryptocurrency, or Digital Assets
