About this role

Gartner is looking for well-rounded and motivated developers to join the Gartner User Platform team. The UPT team is responsible for developing platform supporting authentication and other user functionality.  

What you’ll do: 

  • Ability to fluently code in Java, Spring.

  • Must have experience in Identity Management or would have helped to implement Multi Factor Authentication.

  • Proven experience with SQL.

  • Ability to work with PostgresSQL.

  • Ability to work with any Cloud Platform AWS, GCP, Azure.

  • Owns success – Takes responsibility for successful delivery.

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced Agile/Kanban environment.

  • Follows coding standards, builds appropriate unit tests, integration tests and deployment scripts

  • Assists in defining software architectures – Collaborates with leads to explore existing systems, determines areas of opportunities.

  • Translates designs and style guides provided by the Design team into functional user interfaces, ensuring cross browser compatibility and performance.

  • Contributes to continual improvement by suggesting improvements to software architecture or new technologies.

  • Prior experience with Open-source technologies and applications.

What you will need:

5+ years of post-college experience in Software engineering, API development or related fields. The candidate should have strong qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills along with high on ownership and accountability.

        Must have:

  • 5-7 years of experience developing customer facing web applications.

  • 5-7 years of experience in Java Spring or similar J2EE frameworks.

  • 5-7 years of experience coding using object-oriented and aspect-oriented programming, architecture and design patterns.

  • Strong understanding of RESTful API principles.

  • Strong understanding of security best practices.

  • Strong experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field required 

  • Excellent communication and prioritization skills.

  • Able to work independently or within a team proactively in a fast-paced AGILE-SCRUM environment.

  • Owns success – Takes responsibility for successful delivery of the solutions.

  • Strong desire to improve upon their skills in software development, frameworks, and technologies.
