The Role: How You'll Make an Impact at Personio
Location: Dublin or Munich (Hybrid - 2 days per week in the office, 3 days remote)
At Personio we are on an amazing hypergrowth journey towards becoming the leading HR Platform in Europe! We're looking for experienced Software Engineers to join our Product & Technology department, who will play an active role in shaping our engineering culture and the future of thousands of HR teams and organizations across Europe.
This role is ideal for a highly collaborative Site Reliability Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platform. As a Senior SRE, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting our infrastructure solutions, working closely with product teams and other stakeholders.
Role Responsibilities: What You'll Do
- Designing and supporting a variety of infrastructure solutions with the product teams (from AWS account management to compute & storage layers)
- Creating internal tools to enhance developers productivity
- Analyzing and optimizing systems to enhance scale and speed
- Working hand-by-hand with the other teams to create a coherent data platform
- Documenting and running internal formation
- Ensure the Personio platform is highly available, performant, and secure.
- Improve operational quality by optimizing observability, monitoring, and incident response.
- Drive technical excellence by simplifying architecture and managing technical debt.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new features.
Role Requirements: What You Need to Succeed
- Over 5 years of experience in contributing toward the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems with AWS
- You have a good knowledge of AWS APIs and are at ease with serverless cloud technologies
- You have experience with DevOps (CI/CD) concepts & tooling in the cloud and master at least one infrastructure-as-code tool (Terraform preferred, but CDK knowledge is welcome too)
- You use regularly at least one programming language (Python or Golang ideally)
- Experience working with modern engineering best practices, including testing strategies, observability, and security considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high-availability applications with a strong focus on performance and reliability.
- Experience with incident response and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams (especially with Design System and UX teams).
- Comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment, engaging in pair programming and team discussions.
- Willingness to be on-call and take ownership of operational responsibilities.
