Impact:
The Senior Staff Accountant is vital to the overall success of the Finance and Accounting Department in ensuring that accurate and timely reports are completed without error. This individual will provide high level support to the Controller and also to other personnel in the department.
Position Summary: The Senior Staff Accountant will utilize their knowledge and perform monthly journal entries and reconciliations, drive process improvements and work across the accounting function to ensure accurate and timely financial monthly, quarterly and annual results. The Senior Staff Accountant will need to effectively collaborate with a team of Accountants.
Key Responsibilities/ Duties:
- Perform and review journal entries related to normal month/quarter-end close cycles.
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations and GL account analysis; ensuring balances are accurate, sufficiently documented and meet accounting requirements.
- Summarize financial status by receiving information and preparing balance sheet, P&L, and other statements.
- Take part in forecasting and financial standards setting processes.
- Develop, maintain and document business processes and procedures while ensuring strong internal controls.
- Research technical accounting issues and create processes to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Maintain and create operational and accounting financial standards.
- Perform Percentage of Completion Accounting (POC).

- Strong problem-solving and reasoning ability.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Knowledge of computer-based accounting systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high transaction environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 6-8 years of related accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of NetSuite.
