Who we want:
This Sr. Staff Engineer role is for an engineer capable of architecting, designing, and developing on the AWS platform. You will independently design and implement complex infrastructure as code for private/public cloud. You will maintain existing and new configuration management code and infrastructure and run day-to-day operations of different SaaS products. You will apply the defined design practices including Agile methodology and use sound software engineering principles to ensure that the applications are safe. You will mentor and influence other engineers in complex technical situations. You will assist security teams with the risk analysis and propose risk mitigation strategies. We believe in automation for operational tasks and are seeking an operational engineer with a developer approach. You will direct and communicate the long-term DevOps strategy, constantly building towards the future. While developers own their operations, this role will help design the next generation infrastructure through tools that will drive the evolution of our data solutions, keeping abreast of modern practices, and guiding their implementation.
What you will do:

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of Infrastructure components in alignment with requirements and architecture defined
  • Lead the architecture and implementation of robust CI/CD pipelines that automate, build, test, and deployment process
  • Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions
  • Apply and mentor others on security best practices throughout the infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
  • Conduct technology exploration and influence application in the business
  • Independently make design tradeoff decisions while designing multiple components of the system.
  • Ability to generate and review the necessary documents with project teams. (requirements/design/architecture/bugs/test)
  • Identify opportunities for automation across all aspects of the software development lifecycle

Business Responsibilities:

  • Apply strong understanding of clinical procedures to enhance product development
  • Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans that ensure the resilience and availability of critical systems
  • Contribute to R&D procedures and development of industry standards working closely with cross-functional business units

General Responsibilities:

  • Work cooperatively with R&D and Project Management to ensure project success, both leading and influencing other leaders on the team
  • Identify and lead the creation of or improvements to procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology required
  • Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications
  • Hold self and others accountable to deliver high quality results with passion, energy, and drive to meet business priorities
  • Mentor, develop and inspire others in current and future roles
  • Lead code reviews for systems applying design principals, coding standards and best practices
  • Design new components and systems applying various design concepts and patterns
  • Champion DevOps best practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in at least one of the cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Ability to test, build, design, deploy, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery process via tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, AzureDO.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts such as load balancing, firewalls
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Go, Bash)
  • Understanding of CloudNative Security technologies like CNAPP, ASPM, and other Threat detection services like AWS Guardduty.
  • Expertise in container and container orchestration technologies like Docker, ECS, Kubernetes.
  • Good understanding of Linux system essential for managing and troubleshooting infrastructure
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Expertise in configuration management tools to automate configurations and management of systems

Programming Languages:

  • Lead project software implementation using at least one programming skills (Python, Go)
  • Expertise in configuration languages in Terraform, Chef, Ansible and CloudFormation

Design and Development Skills:

  • Ability to lead strategies in integrated development environments (IDE) for projects
  • Ability to lead strategies with tools for static/dynamic analysis, memory management, code coverage and techniques for analyzing software

Software Process Skills:

  • Collaboratively influence the Software Development Life Cycle processes changes and best practices
  • Collaboratively influence the Application Lifecycle Management /Traceability best practices and tools
  • Collaboratively lead in creating estimates for code implementation time/resource for assigned tasks and projects
  • Regulatory and compliance standards applied to the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering/ computer science or related discipline & 6+ years of work experience.

Travel Percentage: 10%
