The Senior Technical Data Analyst manages investment data, performs complex analysis, builds data systems, and collaborates with clients and teams to enhance data quality.
Job Summary:
- Design and build scalable data pipelines using Snowflake dbt and Prophecy to prepare datasets for reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate with analysts and client teams to translate reporting requirements into efficient data models, views, and BI-ready tables.
- Integrate multiple structured and semi-structured investment data sources into centralized analytical datasets for dashboards and reports.
- Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions (PRISM, GoodData) — from building datasets to creating clear, insightful visualizations.
- Ensure reporting accuracy by implementing data validation checks, quality frameworks, and governance standards.
- Partner with product, project management, and architecture teams to align data infrastructure with reporting objectives.
- Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency in AWS.
- Document data schemas, transformation logic, and reporting workflows for transparency and knowledge sharing.
- Continuously enhance reporting capabilities by leveraging emerging tools, automation, and improved data delivery methods.
- Serve as a reporting subject matter expert, ensuring that stakeholders fully understand and can act on the data presented.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in data engineering, analytics, computer science, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years working in data engineering or analytics engineering roles with a strong focus on reporting deliverables.
- Strong proficiency in SQL (including performance tuning) and familiarity with NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Snowflake and dbt/Prophecy for data ingestion, transformation, and modeling for reports.
- Understanding of database design and data warehouse principles
- Client-centric mindset
- Proven experience building reports and dashboards in Tableau, Power BI, GoodData, or similar BI platforms.
- Knowledge of data warehouse concepts, dimensional modeling, and best practices for reporting datasets.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) for hosting and optimizing reporting pipelines.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python preferred; Java, Scala, VBA, etc. a plus).
- Understanding of data governance and compliance requirements in financial or investment contexts.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- High attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering accurate and actionable reporting.
