Granicus is looking for a skilled Senior Technical Product Manager with deep expertise in video streaming and video-on-demand software to join our Operations Cloud product team. The desired candidate should be passionate about our platform’s ability to impact government efficiency, promote citizen engagement, and increase transparency. 

Granicus has several video streaming and video-on-demand product offerings that tailor to the unique needs of our government customers. We provide hardware and software solutions that process, stream, and store media content as well as allow us to provide remote video directing, closed captioning, and other managed services for our customers. With over 165,000 meetings livestreamed per year, our customers depend on our platform to provide a highly reliable and high-quality viewing experience to their stakeholders.

We’re looking for someone with experience designing and supporting video products, who has a collaborative approach to work, and has both business and technical expertise. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align around a vision for the video components of the Granicus platform. 

What your impact will look like here

  • Collaborate closely with teams across the business including engineering, implementation, support, customer success, UI/UX, and product to provide expert guidance on media-specific challenges. 
  • Maintain multiple critical live and video-on-demand broadcast, encoding, and streaming products. 
  • Redesign live video streaming interfaces connecting users and other critical live event workflows. 
  • Drive technology choices, implement new features, and influence the platform direction.
  • Support unified video product strategy. 
  • Collaborate with product teams to prepare project specifications and define the roadmap. 
  • Build high-performance, stable, scalable systems. 
  • Lead high-level architecture discussions and planning sessions. 
  • Define, analyze, and report on various metrics that determine the success of the video solutions. 
  • Monitor adoption, usage, and profitability impact of the video solutions and make recommendations to drive each of these levers.

  • Ability to break down the long-term vision down into specific, manageable deliverables that deliver user value as quickly as possible 
  • Ability to think strategically with the capacity to expand customer use cases into platform-wide requirements 
  • Define, analyze, and report on various product metrics from usage to profitability 
  • Monitor adoption, usage, and revenue impact of new services and features
  • Experience working in Salesforce, JIRA, and Aha! Is desirable 

Technical Qualifications:

  • Operating system and cloud fundamentals 
  • Windows, Linux, embedded systems, AWS 

  • Device communication protocols 
  • RS-232, Sony Visca, TCP/IP sockets 

  • Video broadcast hardware 
  • Mixers, matrices, encoders, closed captioning 

  • VideoSDK’s 
  • FFmpeg, BlackMagic ATEM, BlackMagic Decklink, Medialooks MPlatform, x264 

  • Video streaming protocols
  • RTMP, HLS, WebRTC 

  • Software development 
  • Languages: C#, NodeJS, Electron, React, Ruby on Rails 

    Technologies: REST, SOAP, event-based communication 

  • Experience with video chat, live streaming, or video conferencing including applied knowledge of how these technologies work together in real-world applications
