Your impact
As a Senior UX Designer, you will act as a passionate advocate for the user, skilled in envisioning the ideal solution and the journey to achieve it in iterations over time.
In this role, you will collaborate with other designers, product managers, and engineers to evolve our passenger-facing in-air web portal and the tools that support it. You will conduct research and lead sessions with airlines and passengers to understand how our products are used in context, capturing ideas on how to improve them. After partnering with product and engineering to determine business value, you will work with Agile teams to create concepts to help scope the effort and outcome. Along the way, you will check-in with peers, stakeholders, and end-users. As development progresses, you will refine the designs based on learnings from technology and business, while maintaining focus on the user benefits.
We are a small team so you are expected to be self-directed and reliable. We are also a tight-knit group that collaborates in creating the best experience for our users, making sure all our designs fit together in a cohesive suite of tools.
What you will do
- Design concepts, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, copywriting, and prototypes. Deliver UX assets for development.
- Provide feedback and guidance to other designers on their work.
- Maintain a deep understanding of passenger behavior and how it varies in flight by conducting user research, stakeholder inquiries, and applying other user and task analysis methods.
- Use quantitative and qualitative data to validate software releases to achieve intended goals.
- Partner with product management throughout the Scaled Agile Framework lifecycle.
- Write features and stories, incrementally validate benefit hypotheses, and develop product roadmaps.
- Support development planning efforts by creating and explaining concepts, refining stories, and estimating work remaining while highlighting any risks to completion.
Your required experience/skills
- 4-8 years of experience as an UX designer, interaction designer, experience designer, product designer or similar role.
- Ability to build out design concepts using Figma, Sketch, or similar design applications.
- Experience writing, conducting, and reporting on face-to-face and remote usability tests, and other qualitative research methods.
- Strong understanding of current web/mobile standards and conventions.
- Portfolio showcasing work across different industries and user bases.
Your success in this role will look like:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in an on-shore/off-shore environment and reporting to remote leadership.
- Familiar with agile development methodologies and experience working with agile teams.
- Experience and desire to work in a highly collaborative and transparent environment.
It would be nice if you had:
- BA or MA in design field.
- Airline or travel industry work experience, especially Inflight Connectivity and Inflight Entertainment.
- Experience in global design, localization, and accessibility.
