About this opportunity:
Ericsson is inviting applications for the position of Field Services Specialist, a role central to our operational excellence. In this role, your core responsibilities will revolve around the coordination, management, and implementation of on-site operations intended to achieve seamless services for our customers. Working as a local function, you will engage primarily within the Operations functions, while also collaborating with other departments. Your actions will ensure that our services are always performing to the highest standards in accordance with our Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Compliance with Project OHS requirements is mandatory throughout this process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations & Maintenance• Monitor and manage PCN/MPBN nodes (SGW, PGW, SMF, UPF, routers, switches) • Ensure network uptime and SLA adherence • Perform routine health checks and preventive maintenance
2. Fault Management & Troubleshooting• Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to:
o Data session drops, latency, throughput degradation
o Signaling failures (GTP, Diameter, BGP, OSPF, ISIS) • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and provide corrective actions • Coordinate with OEM/vendors for critical issues
3. Configuration & Change Management• Execute CRs for:
o Node integration/upgrades
o Traffic offloading / rehoming
o Feature activation (VoLTE, 5G SA, slicing, QoS) • Validate pre/post KPIs and ensure no service impact
4. Performance & Optimization• Monitor KPIs:
o Attach success rate, session success rate
o Throughput, latency, packet loss • Identify bottlenecks and optimize network performance • Capacity planning and forecasting
5. Interworking & Interfaces• Manage interfaces:
o S1-U, S5/S8, N3, N6 (PCN)
o IP/MPLS (MPBN) • Ensure seamless integration with RAN, IMS, IN, and external networks
6. Incident & Escalation Handling• Handle critical incidents and outages • Lead bridge calls and coordinate cross-domain teams • Ensure timely resolution and communication
7. Documentation & Reporting• Prepare RCA reports, incident reports, and daily/weekly KPIs • Maintain network documentation and configurations
Required Skills
Technical Skills• Strong knowledge of:
o 4G EPC & 5G Core (SA/NSA)
o IP/MPLS networking (BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VRF)
o Protocols: GTP, Diameter, SIP (basic), TCP/IP • Experience with OEMs (Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, Cisco, Juniper) • Good understanding of Linux/Unix basics
Soft Skills• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills • Good communication and stakeholder management • Ability to work in high-pressure environments
