Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Chennai (Hybrid)

Business Division: Trimble Viewpoint (AECO)

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Level 1 Support Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a focus on security to join our COPS Global Team in Chennai, India. This role involves collaboration with Security, Development, and Cloud Operations teams in India and North America to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure. The engineer will focus on critical tasks such as patching, risk management, and supporting new applications while maintaining high system reliability and compliance with security standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Security Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure infrastructure and third-party software are patched with the latest updates.
  • Collaborate with teams to achieve and maintain compliance with SOC2, ISO 27001, and other standards.
  • Analyze and address issues from security logs, implementing effective solutions.
  • Configure and maintain Web Application Firewalls (WAF) for secure environments.
  • Design systems adhering to Azure security best practices.

2. Infrastructure and System Reliability

  • Build, test, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructures.
  • Conduct tests to ensure redundancy, resilience, and failover for high uptime standards.
  • Partner with development teams to ensure high performance of SaaS and PaaS systems.

3. Monitoring and Automation

  • Develop and deploy automation tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Create scripts to eliminate repetitive tasks and improve incident response.
  • Enhance observability to preemptively identify and resolve issues.

4. Operational Support

  • Provide Level 1 support for cloud systems, with a focus on security and reliability during U.S. off-hours and ready to support 24/7 when there is a business need.
  • Respond to incidents promptly, participating in on-call rotations to minimize customer impact.
  • Investigate and resolve security incidents efficiently to maintain operational integrity.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Azure & Windows: 1 to 2 years of experience in Azure, Windows support, SRE, DevOps, or Cloud Security.
  • Security Compliance Knowledge: Hands-on experience with SOC2, ISO 27001 frameworks, patch management, and updates.
  • Monitoring & Incident Management: Proficiency in ITIL frameworks, monitoring tools, and ticketing systems.
  • Scripting & Automation Skills: Basic scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and incident response
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret security logs and troubleshoot issues.
  • Situational Awareness and ensure effective communications
  • Documenting incident reports and operational procedures.
