Summary:
VIAVI’s experienced Senior Subject Matter Expert - AIOps, located in the APAC region, will be an essential member of VIAVI’s regional PS team and work closely with VIAVI’s strategic customers and industry experts.
In this role, the Sr. Subject Matter Expert – AIOps will provide technical and strategic leadership and be responsible for developing solutions to our customers' needs which will lead to overachievement of a defined territory quota. This individual will also perform a critical role throughout the entire customer lifecycle, including technical discovery, qualification, solution definition, demonstration, proof of concept, and automation project delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales support to key customers, including technical demonstrations and presentations.
- Develop deep knowledge of customers' technical challenges and business needs to support product/service delivery objectives.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with clients, influencing decision-makers and developing customer advocates.
- Demonstrate expertise in solution and value selling by creating strong business cases to support the value proposition.
- Collaborate with internal/external teams (e.g., VIAVI Services, Engineering, PLM, System Engineering) to anticipate, qualify, and resolve customer needs and issues.
- Identify customer requirements and communicate feature requests to Product Marketing.
- Deliver technical domain expertise in AIOps, data storage, data modeling, management, and analytics, along with product offerings.
- Provide training and mentorship to Sales, SCs, SMEs, and Services teams, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Define and document solution architecture, evaluate technologies, and mitigate risks for successful implementation.
- Validate and review technical documents (e.g., SDDs, RFx responses) and provide input for quotes and product roadmaps.
- Support project planning, management, and monitoring activities to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
- Continuously improve solutions by collaborating with stakeholders and providing technical guidance to development teams.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
- Extensive experience in AIOps-driven inventory and assurance solutions within the telecom domain, leveraging TMF standards, 3GPP protocols, and network automation frameworks to optimize operations and ensure service quality.
- Skilled in implementing AI/ML-based predictive analytics for fault management, performance assurance, and real-time monitoring of telecom networks, ensuring alignment with industry standards like TMF, 3GPP, and ORAN
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in 4G and 5G Core, RAN, Edge Cloud, and applications, including 3GPP and non-3GPP wireless technologies (2G/3G/4G/5G )
- In-depth knowledge of 4G and 5G Core network functions, including mobility management, access management, subscriber database management, network slicing, user and control planes, session management, policy management, and security management.
- Strong L4-L7 protocol experience with a basic understanding of L2/L3 protocols, including common routing and switching.
- Strong knowledge of IP networks, LAN/WAN (wired and wireless), Firewall environments, and multicast protocols (PIM-SM, MSDP, IGMP).
- Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting routers/switches from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, Ericsson, ZTE, Nokia, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
