Software Development Engineer -3 Golang

* This is a remote position; however, the candidate must reside within 30 miles of one of the following locations: Boston, MA; San Francisco Bay Area, CA; Dallas, TX; and Portland, ME.

About the Team/Role

We’re the Transact Global (TAG) team at WEX, the driving force behind our cutting-edge open-loop payment processing platform. Built from the ground up with an agile mindset and a cloud-native architecture leveraging Go, MongoDB, and Terraform, TAG processes millions of transactions daily, powering a critical part of WEX's global payment network. How you’ll make an impact

• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code.

• Quickly pick up new technologies and seamlessly switch between tech stacks.

• Are a versatile engineer comfortable working across the full stack, from front-end web applications (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and back-end services (e.g., built with Go) to NoSQL data stores (MongoDB) and infrastructure systems (AWS, Terraform).

• Are a solid architect, designer, and engineer with a strong understanding of software development principles.

• Have proven experience writing modern software deployed in the cloud (preferably AWS).

• Are comfortable with encryption schemes, modern APIs (e.g., RESTful), and front-end frameworks.

• Have worked on agile teams, delivering software iteratively and collaboratively.

• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of tackling complex technical challenges.

Experience you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of software development experience, including experience developing and supporting cloud-based infrastructure as code.

• Experience with Go Programming language

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Bonus points for

• Strongly proficiency with Go Programming language

• Experience with Kafka, AWS, and Mongo

• Experience with automated deployment pipelines.

• Examples of passion projects or contributions to open-source projects.

• Passion for technology and a desire to learn and grow.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
