What you’ll do

This position is at the forefront of Equifax's post cloud transformation, focusing on developing and enhancing Java applications within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. The ideal candidate will combine strong Java development skills with cloud expertise to drive innovation and improve existing systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software applications on GCP

  • Enhance existing applications and contribute to new initiatives leveraging cloud-native technologies

  • Implement best practices in serverless computing, microservices, and cloud architecture

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design

  • Participate in code reviews and maintain high development and security standards

  • Provide technical oversight and direction for Java and GCP implementations

What experience you need 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 1+ years of IT experience with a strong focus on Java development

  • Proficiency in modern Java development (JDK 17+) and cloud computing concepts

  • Experience with GCP or other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and test-driven development (TDD)

  • Strong understanding of software development best practices, including continuous integration and automated testing

What could set you apart

  • Active cloud certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional certifications)

  • Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Kafka, Hadoop) and NoSQL databases

  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Familiarity with financial services industry

  • Experience with open-source frameworks (Spring, Ruby, Apache Struts, etc.)

  • Experience with Python
