As a Software Engineer III - Test Automation Engineer - Java, Selenium / Cypress at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Banking - Global Banking Technology Team, you will provide a unique perspective to our team. Your continuous contributions will be crucial in evaluating and innovating our testing approach, including our test frameworks and tools. By integrating yourself into the team, you will ensure that testing remains a top-tier aspect of our software development process.
Job Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automation test framework for validation of the application.
  • Own our testing infrastructure and continuously improve our solution.
  • Understand the flow of code and how it interacts with different components.
  • Implement test tools and frameworks that help us release with confidence.
  • Drive the Test strategy, reinforcing quality and testing throughout the SDLC
  • Work with teams to understand test automation gaps and implement coverage.
  • Work towards embedding testing within our CI/CD practices.
  • Coordinate testing efforts across teams to ensure delivery of high-quality features.
  • Work with L3 Support and the engineers you will help to troubleshoot issues across the stack and identify gaps in our testing that can be filled.
  • Coach and mentor the engineers, designers, and product to improve their approach and implementation of tests.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills.

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on experience in Selenium, Cucumber, Cypress, Java, Spring Boot, Microservices
  • Deep understanding of BDD / TDD - Behavior Driven Development/ Test Driven Development
  • Hands-on experience in Performance Test Automation using tools like JMeter.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, Maven, Gradle)
  • Must have experience with API Test Automation and React
  • Experience in collaborating in agile development methodologies and pipeline management.


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Good knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies, Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
