Job responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS infrastructure solutions.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with AWS infrastructure.
- Monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and scalability of AWS infrastructure. Implement and manage security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and implement strategies to reduce AWS spending.
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps, and security, to support project requirements and deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services, features, and best practices.
- Participate in continuous learning and professional development opportunities. Contribute to the development and improvement of infrastructure processes and standards
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an AWS Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices.
