Job Description
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with AWS infrastructure.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and scalability of AWS infrastructure. Implement and manage security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and implement strategies to reduce AWS spending.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps, and security, to support project requirements and deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services, features, and best practices.
  • Participate in continuous learning and professional development opportunities. Contribute to the development and improvement of infrastructure processes and standards

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an AWS Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices.
