As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- You will build and support high throughput, low latency applications which leverage state of the art machine learning architectures, and which are deployed in AWS.
- You will design and develop secure and scalable microservices; review and debug code written by others.
- You will create architecture and design artifacts for complex components
- You will collaborate as part of a global and diverse team
- You will communicate with users, product partners and developers to gather requirements, design, implement and support our platform.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Hands-on software development experience Java.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience in developing highly scalable micro-services based applications.
- In-depth knowledge of software applications and technical processes with practical knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
- Experience with Source Code Control Systems such as Git, bitbucket, svn, etc.
- Experienced in agile methodologies.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in high throughput, low latency micro service development leveraging AWS services such EKS, ECS, Fargate, ELB etc. Experience in high throughput near real time stream processing with services such Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, ECS, EKS etc.
- Experience in high volume feature engineering with services such as EMR. Experience leveraging trained model artifacts in newer model architectures and approaches such as neural networks, embeddings, multi arm bandits, etc.
- Proficiency with relational DBs, SQL, RDS. Experience with development and build tools (or similar): IntelliJ /Eclipse, Maven, Gradle, Sprint Boot, MVC, Spring, Cloud.
- Experience with recommendation and personalization systems. Interest in problems related to the financial services domain.
