As a Backend Development Intern, you will work alongside a team of experienced engineers who are pioneering real-time, large-scale decisioning systems used by some of the most innovative enterprises globally. You’ll design, build, and optimize backend systems that drive high-scale, data-intensive platforms , while gaining hands-on exposure to Generative AI and cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of identity verification.

Our interns don’t just observe , they contribute meaningfully to impactful projects that influence Socure’s products, customers, and technology evolution. • Design and build scalable backend services and APIs that power Socure’s real-time identity verification and fraud detection systems.

• Collaborate with engineers and AI experts to integrate Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) into production-grade backend workflows.

• How production-grade, large-scale backend systems are architected and deployed in real-world environments.

• Practical implementation of Generative AI within risk, fraud, and identity verification contexts.

• Strategic decision-making in balancing accuracy, cost, and latency in distributed systems.

• Exposure to modern frameworks, DevOps tools, and industry-standard backend technologies.

• Best practices in collaboration across engineering, product, and data science teams.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C++).

• Understanding of object-oriented design, RESTful APIs, and cloud-based architectures.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a genuine curiosity to learn new technologies.

• Interest in AI, machine learning, or backend systems.

• Mentorship from senior backend and AI engineers.

• Exposure to production-grade systems and real enterprise data challenges.

• Opportunities to contribute to impactful, customer-facing projects.

• A structured learning path across backend systems and Generative AI.
