What you’ll do:

  • Participate in a self-organizing product team alongside Product Management, UX, Platform, DevOps, and Support.
  • Conduct feasibility analysis, project planning, and work estimation for yourself and the team.
  • Follow and promote engineering best practices, including automated testing, code reviews, pair programming, and documentation.
  • Decompose complex problems into well-defined, realistically estimable tasks.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions related to performance, quality, and security.
  • Provide open and constructive input on product direction and customer needs.
  • Collaborate in an Agile environment with autonomy over your day-to-day work.

What you’ll need:

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Java, Spring, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Vue.js or React.
  • Practical experience with cloud architectures on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, including L3 escalations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to switch between roadmap work and maintenance.
  • Deep understanding of web application architecture, performance, quality, and security.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and cross-product teams.
  • Fluent verbal and written English.

What we offer:

  • The opportunity to help build industry-leading Vikings team apps including Power BI Connector, Tableau Connector, Reports & Timesheets, Clone Plus, and Chat for JSM used by thousands of enterprise customers.
  • Equity: Every Appfire team member is eligible for company equity, fostering a true sense of ownership and connection to our growth.

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
