DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Rexx and Easytrieve Automation; mainframe technologies including COBOL, CICS, DB2, SQL, VSAM, JCL, CA7, IBM WebSphere, and MQ messaging solution; CICS online transaction processing including using Expeditor debugging tool and Main view analyzer for performance tuning; DB2 database in association with Batch and Online programs; using SQL, SPUFI queries, DB2 stored procedures, and data management tools such as Data Studio or Toad; Performance Tuning using data points from main-view and DB2 Platinum; Developing, debugging, and maintaining code using either Endeavor or Change-Man change management tool in a large corporate environment; IBM Provided mainframe tools including File- Aid, Syncsort, Abend-Aid, and IBM JCL utilities; Unit testing, Functional testing, integration and user-acceptance testing, performance testing, and regression testing; Agile methodologies; waterfall and hybrid software development life cycle; JIRA; Confluence; and Service now.
