Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Sr. Ab Initio Developer with 6+ years of hands-on experience in developing, designing, and maintaining ETL workflows using Ab Initio. The ideal candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data integration solutions. You will be responsible for building data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity, optimizing workflows, and troubleshooting issues to support our data processing needs.

Software Requirements:

  • Ab Initio (Graphical and Co>Operating System)
  • SQL for querying and data manipulation
  • ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
  • Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git)
  • Agile development methodologies

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Develop, design, and maintain ETL workflows using Ab Initio.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements and translate them into data integration solutions.
  • Design and build data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources to target systems.
  • Perform data quality checks and ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the ETL process.
  • Optimize existing Ab Initio jobs and workflows to improve processing time and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Ab Initio processes, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions.
  • Conduct unit testing and assist in integration testing of data solutions.
  • Write clear, maintainable code and ensure adherence to best practices in ETL development.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation related to data processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure successful implementation and deployment of data solutions.
  • Stay updated with new Ab Initio features and ETL best practices to enhance process automation and efficiency.

Technical Skills:

  • Required Skills:

    • hands-on experience in Ab Initio development (Graphical Development Environment, Co>Operating System).
    • Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, data manipulation, and troubleshooting.
    • Experience in developing and managing ETL processes for large datasets.
    • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data integration, and business intelligence processes.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues in data processing.
    • Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
    • Strong understanding of data quality best practices and techniques for data validation.
  • Desired Skills (Nice to Have):

    • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
    • Familiarity with other ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or DataStage.
    • Exposure to data governance or compliance standards.
    • Experience with scheduling and automation tools for ETL jobs.

Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in data analysis and data-driven decision-making.
  • Proven experience in Ab Initio ETL development and data processing.

Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand client requirements and develop ETL solutions.
  • Design and implement efficient ETL workflows and data pipelines.
  • Monitor and optimize existing Ab Initio jobs for performance improvements.
  • Conduct data quality checks and ensure compliance with best practices.
  • Maintain technical documentation and assist with knowledge sharing in the team.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in ETL technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and enhancing existing skillsets.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
