Job Summary: We are seeking a talented Senior Associate Java & DB2 Developer with extensive experience in backend engineering, particularly with DB2/Postgres and Java. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining backend systems, working with databases, APIs, and microservices to support our applications, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and scalable. Prior experience with American Express is preferred.
Software Requirements:
- Strong experience with Java (JDK 11+ preferred).
- Hands-on experience with DB2 or Postgres databases.
- Solid understanding of SQL and query optimization.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend services that power our applications.
- Work with DB2, Postgres, and Redis databases to manage and organize data.
- Write and fine-tune SQL queries for optimal performance.
- Build, maintain, and improve APIs to support seamless and secure communication between systems.
- Leverage microservices architecture to ensure scalability and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design solutions.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Java (JDK 11+ preferred).
- Strong experience with DB2 or Postgres databases.
- Solid understanding of SQL and query optimization.
- Experience in developing enterprise-scale applications.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and its implementation.
- Experience with Redis or similar caching mechanisms.
- Understanding of API development and maintenance.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-9 years of experience in backend development.
- Hands-on experience with DB2 or Postgres databases.
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining enterprise-scale applications.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings and project planning sessions.
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs.
- Write and optimize SQL queries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand business requirements.
- Ensure the scalability and reliability of backend systems using microservices architecture.
- Monitor and troubleshoot backend systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Stay current with the latest technology trends and advancements.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
