Sr. DevOps Engineer, Assurant, GCC-India
The Senior DevOps Engineer is tasked with the design, development, and administration of continuous integration and deployment solutions for applications and software, meeting the Assurant enterprise standards. They support the creation of new technology infrastructures and maintain software configuration, automation tools, and develop automation processes and standards. This will be a fully remote position.
This position will be in Hyderabad/Bangalore/Chennai at our India location.
Work Timing: 3:30 PM IST - 12:30 AM IST
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Own and lead the development of DevOps pipelines and cloud infrastructure on Azure.
- Architect, deploy, and manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters with best practices in security, scaling, and automation.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Write infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Automate deployments, monitoring, and scaling strategies for containerized applications.
- Optimize cloud performance, cost, and security across Azure services (App Services, Functions, Networking, Storage, Databases, etc.).
- Implement observability, logging, and monitoring using tools like Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, and Log Analytics.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure best DevOps practices in software development lifecycles.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and compliance for cloud-native applications.
- Lead troubleshooting and incident management for cloud and infrastructure issues.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineering teams.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- Strong expertise in Azure Cloud (Compute, Networking, Storage, Security, and Governance).
- Deep hands-on experience with AKS – cluster management, scaling, networking, and security.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Terraform.
- Advanced scripting & automation skills – Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Strong experience in CI/CD pipeline automation using GitHub Actions.
- Strong understanding of containerization & orchestration – Docker, Helm, Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Azure security best practices – RBAC, IAM, VNETs, Private Endpoints.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools – Azure Monitor, App Insights, ELK Stack, or Prometheus.
- Strong coding ability with a focus on automation & optimization.
What are the other requirements needed for this position?
- Experience with Service Mesh (Istio, Linkerd, or Consul) on AKS.
- Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
- Experience with Azure Policy & Governance frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
