Senior Business Systems Analyst responsible for capturing functional requirements for agent-facing servicing applications, defining APIs and core banking integrations, translating needs into user stories and acceptance criteria, improving agent workflows, supporting testing and releases, and collaborating with data/tech teams to identify AI/ML opportunities for fraud detection, automation, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed business analysis for Retail Banking and Payments platforms and applications.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand business needs, pain points, processes, and product requirements.
- Translate business requirements into BRDs, FRDs, user stories, epics, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Analyze end-to-end payment transaction flows, including transaction initiation, authorization, processing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling.
- Work on payment-related initiatives involving ACH, wires, card payments, real-time payments, money movement, and digital payments.
- Analyze retail banking processes such as account opening, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments, bill pay, and customer servicing.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data, QA, Operations, Risk, and Compliance teams.
- Conduct current-state and future-state process analysis and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Create process flows, data flows, functional workflows, and business process diagrams.
- Identify dependencies, business rules, data requirements, risks, assumptions, and downstream impacts.
- Partner with technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and correctly implemented.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support QA/UAT teams by developing test scenarios, reviewing test cases, and validating business functionality.
- Investigate production issues, payment exceptions, transaction discrepancies, and data-related defects.
- Work with stakeholders to analyze root causes and define appropriate business and technical solutions.
- Ensure solutions comply with applicable banking, payment, risk, regulatory, and operational requirements.
- Prepare management updates, requirement documentation, process documentation, and project status reports.
