What you will do:

As a Data Product Developer, you will oversee the planning, development, deployment, effectiveness, and relevance of data products within Snowflake Global Field Analytics data platform built for the Global Field Operations business within Johnson Controls. You will partner with Data Engineers, Analysts, Architects and Global Data Analytics and Intelligence Portfolio Owners to deliver data-driven solutions that support business goals and drive data culture. You will also be responsible for performance across the data product lifecycle and adoption of these data products within the data and analytics teams and help solve direct business problems.

 
How you will do it:

  • Define and document data product requirements, scope, objectives, and success metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy data products that meet user needs and business expectations.
  • Monitor and evaluate data product performance, usage, feedback, and impact using data and analytics tools.
  • Identify and communicate data product insights, opportunities, and recommendations to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Manage data product backlog, roadmap, and prioritization based on business value and user feedback.
  • Build efficient data validation/ quality methodology for these data products.
  • Ensure data product alignment with data governance, security, privacy, and quality standards and best practices.
  • Key focus on eliminating manual reporting activities within the teams through automation from databases.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Review ad-hoc vs. standard management reporting process to help determine when repetitive ad-hoc requests should be included as standard reporting and add information to data products.

What we look for
Required:

  • Experience with Snowflake Data Cloud platform is a highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data product management, data analysis, or data engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of data and analytics concepts, tools, and techniques, such as SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, data modeling, data warehousing, data pipelines, data quality, data governance, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, R
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data and technical concepts into simple and actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
  • Strong communication capabilities
