The Role: Senior DevOps Engineer

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Kaseya is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Senior DevOps Engineer to join our cutting-edge engineering team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be at the forefront of driving continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices, empowering our software developers to deliver high-quality IT management solutions faster than ever before.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Kaseya, you will be a vital member of our dynamic and innovative engineering team, responsible for bridging the gap between development and operations to facilitate continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of software solutions. Your technical prowess and passion for automation will play a key role in optimizing and streamlining the software development lifecycle, enabling the delivery of high-quality IT management solutions to our clients.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Implement and manage automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline code integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
  • Monitor infrastructure and application performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure availability and reliability.
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure costs, employing tools and best practices for cost efficiency.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices, including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Provision and maintain containerized and serverless deployments using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Lambda.
  • Administer and automate configuration management with tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Oversee data infrastructure, including deployment, scaling, monitoring, and backup of databases (e.g., AWS RDS, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Lead incident management efforts, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and postmortems.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and coordinate effective response during critical incidents or outages.
  • Collaborate closely with development and QA teams to integrate automated testing and feedback loops into the deployment process.
  • Maintain and enhance monitoring, observability, and logging systems (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch, Grafana, Kibana).
  • Evaluate, integrate, and manage DevOps toolchains to support and improve automation, monitoring, and security.
  • Document processes, systems, and architectures, ensuring knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
  • Support network management tasks, including configuration of VPNs, VPCs, load balancers, DNS, and firewalls.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, conducting code reviews, and fostering DevOps best practices.
  • Facilitate release management, ensuring smooth and coordinated deployments, rollbacks, and communications.
  • Analyze system capacity and performance, tuning infrastructure for optimal efficiency and scalability.
  • Drive continuous improvement by staying up to date with emerging DevOps technologies, tools, and methodologies.


Key Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience deploying solutions in AWS, with expertise in writing infrastructure-as-code using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, GitLab).
  • Strong understanding of technical architecture, deployment, and scalable, highly available systems across both cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Shell), configuration management (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet), and version control systems, including advanced GitHub/GitLab branching strategies and workflows.
  • Experience supporting containerized and serverless deployments (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, Lambda), as well as managing data infrastructure (AWS RDS, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Skilled in monitoring, observability, and logging with tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch, and OpenSearch.
  • Background in data warehousing and ETL (Snowflake, Athena, Airflow) and integrating security best practices (DevSecOps, vulnerability scanning, secrets management, compliance frameworks like SOC2, ISO27001) into CI/CD processes.
  • Experience in incident management (troubleshooting, resolution, postmortems/RCAs), on-call rotation (OpsGenie, PagerDuty), and disaster recovery planning/testing.
  • Knowledgeable in cost management and optimization using automated tools (CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer).
  • Understanding of network management, including VPNs, VPCs, load balancing, DNS, firewalls, and experience with service mesh/API management technologies (Linkerd, Apigee, AWS API Gateway).
  • Collaborative skills using team tools (Jira, Confluence, Slack) for incident response and project coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability in performance tuning, backup solutions, and delivering actionable insights across the stack.
