Key Responsibilities 

Controls Design & Development 

  • Design and develop PLC programs using Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, WinCC, and SIMATIC Manager. 

  • Configure and implement HMI/SCADA interfaces (FactoryTalk View, WinCC) for monitoring and control. 

  • Develop standardized control philosophies, sequences of operation, and test procedures. 

  • Implement redundancy strategies at CPU, I/O, and network levels for high system availability. 

Instrumentation & System Integration 

  • Select, configure, and integrate field instruments (flow, pressure, level, pH, turbidity, TSS, DO). 

  • Perform loop checks, calibrations, and signal validation during FAT/SAT and commissioning. 

  • Ensure seamless integration of instruments with PLC/SCADA systems. 

  • Review P&IDs, datasheets, and specifications to define automation scope. 

  • Configure industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profinet, OPC UA, Canbus). 

Project Execution & Collaboration 

  • Own project automation deliverables, ensuring quality, schedule, and cost compliance. 

  • Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and process engineers for integrated project delivery. 

  • Support FAT/SAT, site commissioning, troubleshooting, and handover. 

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in PLC/HMI development and instrumentation integration. 

  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical workshops. 

Global Coordination & Client Interaction 

  • Coordinate with international teams and stakeholders across time zones. 

  • Represent automation engineering in client meetings, technical discussions, and design reviews. 

  • Communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively in English across multicultural environments. 

 

Skills & Qualifications 

Must-Have 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electronics & Communication Engineering. 

  • 5–8 years’ experience in PLC/HMI/SCADA development for water/wastewater and filtration projects. 

  • Strong expertise in Allen-Bradley (CompactLogix, ControlLogix) and Siemens (TIA Portal, WinCC) platforms. 

  • Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 programming languages (Ladder, FBD, STL). 

  • Hands-on experience in redundant CPU, I/O, and network architectures. 

  • Proven track record in instrument selection, calibration, and integration. 

  • FAT/SAT execution and on-site commissioning experience. 

  • Strong knowledge of P&IDs, control narratives, and specifications. 

  • Familiarity with remote monitoring solutions (EWON, Red Lion, or similar). 

  • Strong English communication and teamwork skills. 

Nice-to-Have 

  • Experience in EPC projects within water/wastewater or industrial filtration. 

  • Hands on experience to design Electrical Schematics using AutoCAD / EPLAN

  • Process understanding of filtration systems, STP, ozonation, and UV disinfection. 

  • Knowledge of pump control, VFDs, and energy optimization strategies. 

  • Familiarity with IoT/IIoT devices for monitoring and analytics. 

  • Exposure to C, SQL, or VB for advanced data handling and reporting.

  • Prior experience mentoring and developing junior engineers.
